25.01.27 Update - Dreamlike Extra + Level Creator update
Changelog
-Animation rendering method is now changed for iOS devices for a better experience.
-Audio (not including music) is now played with Web Audio API specifically on iOS devices to maximize performance on said devices.
-Limited the number of audio files that can be stored in memory on mobile devices and in the offline version to minimize unnecessary memory consumption.
-Revamped the save system and other inner workings of the game (which also means more bugs yay).
-Fixed a crash related to loading resources.
-Brand new Spring Festival 2025 challenge in Events.
-A major extension has arrived in Level Creator! Featuring several UI redesigns and a bunch of new features, including:
*For the first time ever, join the undead! You can now play your level on the zombie side! Eat all 5 brains to win!
*I, Zombie zombies, Gadgets, Magical Cosplayer, and Queen Beetle have been added to Level Creator.
*A brand new Events tab where you can add events such as day/night switches, heat waves, or even subtitles!
*Extra configurations for Conveyor and Raining Seeds modes.
*You can now change the music for your level.
*No Cooldown and Soaring Scores (Blood Debt on the zombies’ side) minigames have been added.
-Several minigames from Events have been moved to the newly opened Sunflower’s Dream (Dreamlike Extra)! New minigames will be added here in the future too!
-New items added to the Store, such as Valuable Mowers, Pool Cleaners, Mower Launch, Winter Melon and Cattail!
-New story and dialogues added for Mirage Part 2. Improved Mirage 10’s experience.
-You can now click Conical Flasks on the map to enter the Laboratory. Laboratory is removed from Events.
-Foggy City Mirror added to Daily Challenge.
-Implemented a fix for cloud features on Main server. Report it again cloud features still don’t work.
-Removed the stupid feature on the online level hub where levels get automatically deleted when their clear rate falls below 10%.
-No longer possible to shovel up your own brain.
-Fixed an oversight that made dead plants add 50 to your score instead of deducting 50 in Soaring Scores levels.
-Dead plants in Foggy 8 Mirror now gives 0 score and the target score is now 9000.
-Fixed several bugs related to Icefield 30’s Reward Level on mobile.
-Slightly altered portals’ hitboxes again because the hitboxes being too small interfered with certain levels like Mirage 15.
-Ice holes spawning on SOS tiles will now correctly make you lose if they kill the endangered plants.
-Bowling plants can no longer be endangered.
-Slightly increased the additional damage of Golden Thunderbeet calculated based on the number of Golden Thunderbeets on the lawn.
-Fixed certain errors with the timing of decimal waves in custom levels.
-Fixed certain errors in Foggy City Day 6.
-Slight adjustments to Mirage 14 and Mirage 18. Thief Zombies are removed from Mirage 18.
-Fixed certain issues with Foggy City Day 11.
-Sculptor Zombies now initially spawn with a fixed amount of statues (instead of RNG) in Foggy City Night 11 Mirror.
-Foggy City Day 25: The first vase spawned in Phase 3 will now always be a Gargantuar vase.
-Thief Zombie’s knockback immunity while stealing is now extended to last for his entire stealing animation.
-Fixed a visual error where Thief Zombie’s texture becomes misaligned when buttered or frozen while in water.
-Fixed a bug where Suburbian Dwarf always gives shield to only a single zombie with his second skill.
-Fixed a visual error where the final boss of Foggy City Mirror is seen targeting a single plant when he’s not supposed to.
-8-Bit Aipois now take significantly reduced damage from Foggy City Mirror final boss’ horizontal missiles instead of taking no damage.
-8-Bit Aipois now take damage from Necromancer Zombie’s lasers.
-Slightly increased Kernel-pult’s hitbox. With this change, Thief Zombie will now steal Kernel-pult when dropped right on its tile instead of ignoring it.
-A catapult plant’s projectile can no longer appear if the catapult plant died before they finished lobbing the projectile. This change does not apply to straight-shot plants.
-No longer possible to put negative numbers, numbers more than 10000 or NaN in the Spawn points box and No. of zombies box in Level Creator. To whoever put this in a custom level and exploded the game, screw you.
-Fixed certain bugs in Duel mode, including one where the Spectate Opponent’s Lawn feature does not work when HP bars setting isn’t turned on.
-Fixed an oversight that caused layering errors in several Mirage levels.
-Fixed an issue that prevents tombstones from spawning in custom Vasebreaker levels.
-Fixed an oversight that made Torchwood’s actual fire location not change when Torchwood is moved.
-Added an extra indicator for zombies linked by Spirit Guardian Zombie.
-Fixed an issue with zombies teleporting when spawning in large numbers via Escalation with traffic lights present.
-Zombies’ speed now have a max limit (when boosted by Beetle Car Zombies and traffic lights).
-Vases when broken can no longer spawn objects on tombstones in custom levels.
-Peashooter Zombie can no longer shoot after losing his head (even if he’s later healed by Necromancer Zombie) or disappearing.
-Peashooter Zombie’s peas’ ice effect (shot by chilled Peashooter Zombies) will now be canceled when ignited.
-Fixed Peashooter Zombie’s targeting order, now it’ll target 8-bit Aipoi first if it’s there.
-Fixed a visual glitch with Zomboni’s ice trail when he’s teleported to another location on the same lane.
-Fixed an error that made plants cannot be planted on tiles that used to have Fruit Baskets but later removed by Delete Tiles.
-Fixed an oversight that made Magical Icicle Zombies transform endangered plants in Level Creator.
-Fixed an error with the map scrolling during Icefield Day 11’s outro dialogue.
-Fixed an error in the screen shake during Icefield Day 12’s outro dialogue.
-Fixed a bug that freezes Foggy City Day 19 when dialogues don’t play.
-No longer possible to interact with the elements of the phone other than the article’s scrolling in Icefield 24’s ending cutscene.
-Fixed an issue that prevented Icefield 24 and Foggy 20’s ending cutscenes from being reopened a second time.
-Fixed an issue where the seed packets in certain levels became unselectable.
-Certain grid items now have a chance to give coins upon destruction.
-No longer possible to have less than 4 ice holes appearing at the very start of Icefield 29 Mirror - Illusion (Round 2).
-Fixed certain problems with zombies’ groundspawning animations.
-Fixed an oversight where Stopwatch will cause zombies to softlock if it teleports zombies that are in an invincible state.
-No longer possible to make Necromancer Zombie spawn a tombstone at column 10 using Stopwatch.
-Slightly modified slider tiles’ zombie detection range to account for the zombies’ increased attack hitbox in recent updates. This should revert Icefield 25 Mirror back to what it once was.
-Fixed an issue related to audio that caused a bunch of other issues such as Gargantuar freezing in place after smashing a plant, ice holes not forming mid-level correctly, etc.
-Fixed an issue with Choose your seeds where the seed packets cannot be selected while certain custom cursor extensions are active.
-Removed/Replaced certain special effects of waterways, Magical Icicle Zombies and Beetle Car Zombie’s gas in Low performance mode.
-Fixed a bug related to a certain secret achievement.
-Fixed an issue where zombies have a chance to not follow the path in Across The Lawn levels. Also fixed the issue where zombies are very unlikely to enter the bottom path in Icefield 29.
-Fixed an issue with zombies with altered speed in Icefield 22 Mirror.
-Now possible to plant Prickly Roses in Icefield 29.
-Fixed some text shadow display errors in certain devices.
-Minor changes to the level “Misty Misfortune”.
-Fixed a bug that made certain features like fog, danmaku bullets, etc. not show up in devices that don’t support offscreen rendering.
-We know we don’t fully support Firefox yet (maybe we will) but since this is a pretty simple fix: No longer possible to drag game sprites in Firefox.
